BIO

Praised for his musicality, diversity of repertoire, and sensitive approach to , Denis Vasenin is a 21st century Classical Guitarist, based in Gainesville, Florida.
Denis was born in the Republic of Moldova – the smallest country of Eastern Europe, and picked up guitar at the age of seven. Over the course of his teenage years Denis actively performed in various settings. As a part of the “Picado” guitar ensemble, he played at the National Organ Hall in Chisinau, and appeared on several of Moldova’s national television channels. He also competed a lot: his achievents include 2nd place at the “Virtuosos of Russian Music” competition, and 1st place at the Junior Republican Guitar Competition in 2013.
Upon completion high school, Denis moved to the United States of America to attend Stetson University, where he studied under Dr. Stephen Robinson. In 2016 he transferred to Florida State University, where he continued his guitar studies with Maestro Bruce Holzman. During his college years, Denis played in masterclasses for renown musicians and pedagogues such as David Russell, Andrew Zohn, the Amadeus Duo, etc. He performed all over the Southeast of the US and currently keeps a busy schedule, playing in venues of north and central Florida. His recent achievements include 1st place in the Florida Guitar Festival Competition, and 3rd place in Troy Guitar Festival & Competition
